It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Eunice Bobcats can now relate to. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 35-19 to Breaux Bridge. Eunice was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Breaux Bridge apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2020.
Kelby Hypolite had a dynamite game for Breaux Bridge, rushing for 168 yards and four touchdowns. Hypolite was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. Cristian Matthews and his 95 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Breaux Bridge's victory.
Eunice's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Breaux Bridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Assumption the next time they take the field. Breaux Bridge will head out to face Assumption on Friday, while Eunice will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
