The Danville Warriors will head out to take on the Terre Haute North Vigo Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Danville will be strutting in after a win while Terre Haute North Vigo will be coming in after a defeat.
Danville barely beat Southmont the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors' pitchers stepped up to hand the Mounties a 9-0 shutout on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Noah Origer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Danville is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-8 otherwise. Origer was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Ethan Wooten was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aiden Chiodo, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.
Danville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Terre Haute North Vigo fell victim to Avon and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Orioles. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Orioles: they've now lost eight in a row.
Terre Haute North Vigo saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Lawson, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple was Lawson's first of the season.
Danville pushed their record up to 7-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Terre Haute North Vigo, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
