Don't be fooled by the insanely high score: we promise Plainview and Emerson-Hubbard were playing football. Plainview walked away with a 66-52 win over Emerson-Hubbard. The success represented a nice turnaround for Plainview, who in their last game suffered a tough 8-40 defeat.
The match started off well for Plainview, whose offense put up 28 first-half points. Emerson-Hubbard put up 22, so the score was 28-22 at the half. The offense for Plainview continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 38 points to put the game away.
Junior Jacob Hoffmann was the offensive standout of the match for Plainview, as he rushed for 219 yards and 4 touchdowns. In fact, with 23 tackles Hoffmann was a force on both sides of the ball. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse junior John Schlote, who racked up 13 tackles. The victory bumped Plainview's record up to 1-2. The loss dropped Emerson-Hubbard's record to 1-2.
Next week Plainview take on Elgin/Pope John at 7:00 PM. Emerson-Hubbard will look to defend their home turf against Cedar Bluffs at 7:00 PM.
