Greenfield-Central posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They breezed by Muncie Central on the road to the tune of 55-7. Given Greenfield-Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Muncie Central is ranked 375th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Madison Sonsini continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Brooklyn Mcconnell was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Mt. Vernon was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 41-37 to Mooresville. Mt. Vernon has struggled against Mooresville recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Greenfield-Central has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Mt. Vernon, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.
Greenfield-Central was dealt a bruising 55-19 defeat at the hands of Mt. Vernon in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Greenfield-Central, Khloe Patterson (who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
