It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Antioch Sequoits ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They walked away with a 54-47 victory over Woodstock. The win made it back-to-back wins for Antioch.
Leading Antioch to victory were Macie Volkmar and Heidi Rathmann. Volkmar scored 14 points, while Rathmann scored 15 points. The contest was Rathmann's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hailey Caya, who scored six points.
Antioch is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Woodstock, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5.
Antioch will be home for the holidays to greet Carmel at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Carmel presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Antioch in Illinois (Carmel is ranked 81st, while Antioch is ranked 249th). As for Woodstock, they will head out on the road to face off against Grayslake Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
