Egg Harbor Township scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Millville, 27-23. At the time, the Thunderbolts were ranked 19th in the state, while the Eagles were 76th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Millville, who took down 19th ranked Millville, 27-23. Matt Clayton ran for 210 yards in the win.
Calvin Rice was the best wideout in Cape-Atlantic - American this week as Egg Harbor Township bested Jason Durham's team. Rice racked up one reception for 27 yards. Dante Moore helped Egg Harbor Township's passing attack out by catching two balls for 16 yards.
Anthony Giagunto put up the best numbers through the air as St. Joseph topped Atlantic City. He finished with a total of four completions for 53 yards and one touchdown. Giagunto's favorite target this week was Laquay Brown, who caught one pass for 21 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Giagunto and Cody Sampson the Wildcats have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Giagunto leads the league in passing with 454 yards, while Sampson has rushed for 616 yards this season. Tony Derosa's team's Hajilik Smith leads the league in receiving yards with 129 on 13 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Absegami takes on Hammonton. As it stands, the Braves are in fourth, while the Blue Devils are in second.
The Eagles moved up to 42 from 76 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Egg Harbor Township was able to make move up by besting the Thunderbolts 27-23.
