Basketball Game Preview: Butler Bulldogs vs. Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles

The Butler Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Butler is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season.

Last Saturday, everything went Butler's way against Osborne as Butler made off with a 54-29 victory. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Rania Curry was her usual excellent self, going 7 for 17 on her way to 17 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Paris Floyd, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 11 points along with six assists and four steals.

Butler was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Osborne only posted one assist.

Meanwhile, Gray Collegiate Academy waltzed into their contest last Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They snuck past the Warriors with a 54-49 win.

Gray Collegiate Academy's win came from a few key players Butler will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kadence Walker-Lee, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Raina Mayers, who posted 11 points.

Gray Collegiate Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Butler, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-1.
