Chillicothe is a perfect 10-0 against Trenton since September of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Hornets will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Trenton will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Chillicothe extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Hornets blew past Cameron 3-0. The game was the first time the Hornets have beaten the Dragons on their court since October 16, 2017.
Chillicothe walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-10, 25-18.
South Harrison came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Trenton, but Ty Bonnett wouldn't allow it. Trenton blew past South Harrison 3-0 on Thursday for which the team can thank Bonnett, who had ten digs and seven aces. She has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played.
Trenton was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-20, 25-16.
Trenton's win bumped their record up to 7-16-1. As for Chillicothe, their victory bumped their record up to 18-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's matchup: Chillicothe has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.7 aces per game. However, it's not like Trenton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything went Chillicothe's way against Trenton when the teams last played back in September, as Chillicothe made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
