Carol City has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the North Miami Beach Chargers at 5:00 p.m. Carol City comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 13 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
On Wednesday, Carol City had to suffer through a rough 70-1 loss at the hands of Central.
North Miami Beach has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 28 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Edison 49-21 on the road.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Miami Beach to victory, but perhaps none more so than Laila Henderson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Henderson has scored at least 25% of North Miami Beach's points. Another player making a difference was Yoshaney Cayaso, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.
Carol City bumped their record down to 0-4 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.8 points per game. As for North Miami Beach, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Carol City against North Miami Beach in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 47-11 win. Does Carol City have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Miami Beach turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
