Leading Lake County to victory were Isaiah Martinez and Jonathan Valdez. Martinez scored 19 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals, while Valdez dropped a double-double on 28 points and 20 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Martinez has scored at least 25% of Lake County's points. Jaren Peters was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 4 steals.
Despite the loss, Vail Christian still got an impressive performance from Will Neumann, who scored 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Neumann, who scored 10 points.
The win got Lake County back to even at 1-1. As for Vail Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Lake County will square off against Vail Mountain at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Vail Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Clear Creek at 3:30 p.m. Hopefully Clear Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
