The Kokomo HomeSchool Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They pulled ahead with a 49-48 photo finish over Colonial Christian. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Kokomo HomeSchool.
Kokomo HomeSchool's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Megan Hufford led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hufford has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Anna Singleton, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Colonial Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kate Minton, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. Minton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Stinna Grubb, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Even though they lost, Colonial Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Kokomo HomeSchool's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12. As for Colonial Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
Kokomo HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Colonial Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Suburban Christian at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Colonial Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday.
