Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Miami Warriors walked away with it. They walked away with a 42-34 victory over Springlake-Earth on Friday. The win was just business as usual for Miami, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Miami to victory, but perhaps none more so than Haiden Thompson, who threw for 264 yards and six touchdowns, and also rushed for 100 yards on only 14 carries. Luke Wheeler was another key contributor, gaining 211 total yards and two touchdowns.
Miami's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Springlake-Earth, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.
Miami will take on Happy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Happy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matches -- so hopefully Miami likes a good challenge. Springlake-Earth does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
