Covington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over North Vermillion. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.

Alexus Peaslee made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caydence Peaslee, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Haley Holycross was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Covington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Vermillion only posted an OBP of .381.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Riverton Parke made sure to put some runs up on the board against Attica on Tuesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Red Ramblers with a sharp 15-1 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Riverton Parke got a massive performance out of Lizzy Leitgabel, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Maddy Lumaye, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Riverton Parke is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Covington, their victory bumped their record up to 11-15.
Covington suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to Riverton Parke in their previous meeting on May 10th. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
