Basketball Recap: Sadie Curry Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Steamboat Springs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Colorado Academy, Windsor Charter Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Steamboat Springs Sailors with a sharp 41-21 victory. Given the Firebirds' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Sailors are ranked 223rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Windsor Charter Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sadie Curry, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 20 points and four steals. Those 20 points gave Curry a new career-high. Kylie Smith was another key player, putting up five points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Windsor Charter Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Steamboat Springs, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Windsor Charter Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 37-33 win against Rampart on the 14th. As for Steamboat Springs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 48-30 defeat against Mountain Range on the 14th.
