Whitharral is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Morton is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Whitharral Panthers will take on the Morton Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Whitharral posted their biggest victory since December 7, 2023 on Friday. Everything went their way against Meadow as Whitharral made off with a 43-18 win. Given Whitharral's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 615th, while Meadow is ranked 1657th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Whitharral's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Griffin, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Sansom, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Morton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 74-27 win over Anton on the road.
Whitharral has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Morton, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
Whitharral strolled past Morton when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 51-34. Will Whitharral repeat their success, or does Morton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
