Baseball Recap: New Deal Extends Winning Streak to Four

New Deal waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Olton Mustangs 9-1. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Dallas Sumner, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-5. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of David Aguirre, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

New Deal's record now sits at 10-2. As for Olton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. New Deal is set to challenge their familiar foe Ralls at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 3.5, the Jackrabbits 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Olton will face off against rival Sudan at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
