The West Point Warriors were the 65-54 winner over the Lawrence County Red Devils when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. West Point fell 59-50 to Lawrence County on Tuesday. West Point has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Braylon Dame was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with three steals for Lawrence County. The game was Dame's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Zander Keepers was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
West Point's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Lawrence County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-9.
West Point will be playing at home against Brewer at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Brewer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Friday. As for Lawrence County, they will head out on the road to face off against Russellville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Russellville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lawrence County in Alabama (Russellville is ranked 47th, while Lawrence County is ranked 150th).
