The last time they met, Augusta were the 39-13 winner over Winfield. This time around? They had no such luck. Augusta took a hard 17-35 fall against Winfield. Augusta were down by 10-35 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
The defeat dropped Augusta's record to 1-4. The win bumped Winfield's record up to 2-3.
Next week Augusta take on McPherson at 7:00 PM. Augusta stagger into the matchup hobbled by three consecutive losses while McPherson skip in buoyed by five consecutive wins. As for Winfield, they will face off against El Dorado. Those two teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous games.
