The Teague Lions won the last time they faced the Buffalo Bison, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Teague walked away with a 43-35 victory over Buffalo. Given Teague's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while Buffalo is ranked 1181st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bethanah Owens was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 24 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 12 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of A'shaiya Jones, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Teague is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-12 record this season. As for Buffalo, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-20.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Teague will challenge Groesbeck at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Groesbeck is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Buffalo, they will head out on the road to face off against Westwood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Westwood is on a three-game streak of home losses, Buffalo a nine-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
