The Columbia Wildcats won the last time they faced the Emmett Huskies, and things went their way on Friday too. Columbia snuck past Emmett with a 48-43 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Columbia.
Emmett's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ryllie Smith, who scored 20 points along with three steals, and Natalie Goslin who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 34.9% of Emmett's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Columbia's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Emmett, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia will face off against Caldwell at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Emmett won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bishop Kelly at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. Bishop Kelly will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.
