Softball Recap: Strawberry Crest Has No Trouble Against Tampa Bay Tech

While Strawberry Crest put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Tampa Bay Tech. Everything went the Strawberry Crest Chargers' way against the Tampa Bay Tech Titans as the Strawberry Crest Chargers made off with a 16-0 victory. The Chargers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Titans, too.

Katelyn Watts made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kennedy Shea, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Ava Cater was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Strawberry Crest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tampa Bay Tech only posted a batting average of .000.

Strawberry Crest moved to 3-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Tampa Bay Tech, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

After both having extra time off, Strawberry Crest and Sickles will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. Strawberry Crest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season. Tampa Bay Tech will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Middleton at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. Tampa Bay Tech is facing Middleton at the right time seeing as Middleton is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
