The Stevens Falcons lost against the Warren Warriors back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The game between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Stevens falling 55-39. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 630th, while Warren is ranked 297th).
Despite the defeat, Stevens saw an underclassman step up: Andra Stokes scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stokes has scored all season. Mya Guzman was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Stevens has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Warren, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Sotomayor the next time they take the court. Warren will host Sotomayor at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Stevens will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
