The Cicero Prep Academy Centurions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 47-10 loss at the hands of Lincoln Prep. Cicero Prep Academy has not had much luck with Lincoln Prep recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Cicero Prep Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Eva Rodriguez was her usual excellent self, scoring 12 points along with six steals for Lincoln Prep. Rodriguez hasn't dropped below four steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Danna Cubero, who scored eight points along with six steals and five assists.
Cicero Prep Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Lincoln Prep, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-6.
Cicero Prep Academy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Phoenix Day School for the Deaf at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Arizona (Cicero Prep Academy is ranked 295th, while Phoenix Day School for the Deaf is ranked 309th). As for Lincoln Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against Valley Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lincoln Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
