Odyssey Institute is 0-9 against Yuma Catholic since March of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Minotaur will look to defend their home field against the Shamrocks at 3:45 p.m. Odyssey Institute has given up an average of 15.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Odyssey Institute is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against ALA - West Foothills on Monday. They lost 13-2 to the Guardians.

Odyssey Institute saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maya Carmouche, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Carmouche is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, Yuma Catholic entered their tilt with Parker on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Broncs get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. Considering the Shamrocks have won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Cherish Trujillo, who gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks to keep Parker off the board.
On the hitting side, Mailyn Milan and Mikaela Gonzales did most of the damage at the plate: Milan scored three runs while going 1-for-3, while Gonzales scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Donley, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Yuma Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive contests.
Yuma Catholic's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games. As for Odyssey Institute, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Odyssey Institute hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348. However, it's not like Yuma Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .407. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Odyssey Institute might still be hurting after the 18-0 loss they got from Yuma Catholic in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Minotaur have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
