United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United] stacked a third blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Conemaugh Township 49-7 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.
United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United] had a senior duo take command as Caden McCully rushed for 104 yards and four touchdowns and Isaac Worthington rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Worthington was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.
Meanwhile, Mount Union unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. The matchup between Mount Union and Karns City wasn't particularly close, with Mount Union falling 34-19.
Despite their loss, Mount Union saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Bryce Danish, who threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Je'saun Robinson, who picked up 97 receiving yards and a touchdown.
United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United]'s victory was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Conemaugh Township and 1-9 River Valley (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.5% over those games). As for Mount Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.
