It was a good run, but the Kings Mountain Mountaineers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of South Point by a score of 84-81. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Kings Mountain has suffered yet this season.
Several Mountaineers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bradley Floyd, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Floyd is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Tucker Robinette was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Point to victory, but perhaps none more so than Quay Harris, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harris has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Greyson Kines, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Kings Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for South Point, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Kings Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Charlotte at 12:30 p.m. on January 20th. West Charlotte is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for South Point, they will head out on the road to take on North Gaston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Gaston is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
