It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Lawrence County Red Devils can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Tigers on the road and fell 80-46. Lawrence County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-14.
When it comes to explaining why Lawrence County lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Zander Keepers. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Keepers hasn't dropped below four steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Aaron White, who scored four points along with two blocks.
Lawrence County dropped their record down to 14-15 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Fairfield, the victory (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 25-2.
Lawrence County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fairfield, they will play host again and welcome Madison Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Fairfield is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
