This season hasn't been kind to the IDEA Sports Park Stingrays, who are still winless after their eighth game. They were dealt a 55-18 defeat at the hands of Rio Hondo on Friday. IDEA Sports Park has not had much luck with Rio Hondo recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Rio Hondo got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emily Molina out in front who scored 19 points. Molina is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadassah Campbell, who scored 14 points.
IDEA Sports Park bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.8 points per game. As for Rio Hondo, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 18-4.
IDEA Sports Park will head out on the road to challenge Lyford at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lyford presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than IDEA Sports Park in Texas (Lyford is ranked 704th, while IDEA Sports Park is ranked 1557th). As for Rio Hondo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Monte Alto at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Monte Alto comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 16 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
