 Ben Tyrrell made a splash while hitting and pitching. He  struck out six batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and three unearned) runs off   four  hits. Colbe Tappe also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
 Staples-Motley  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in four consecutive  contests.
Staples-Motley picked up their first home  win, bumping their record up to 3-6-1. As for Breckenridge, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record  this season.
 Staples-Motley will head out on the road to  square off against  Sauk Centre  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Cardinals are facing the Mainstreeters at the right time seeing as the Mainstreeters are stuck on  a  five-game losing streak. As for Breckenridge, they will look to defend their home field  on Monday against Lake Park-Audubon  at 4:30  p.m.
