The Staples-Motley Cardinals will head out on the road to take on the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Staples-Motley will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Perham, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Cardinals' pitcher stepped up to hand the Yellowjackets a 5-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

Not much got past Addie Potter, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Perham off the board. Potter has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Staples-Motley got a big performance out of Emersen Bettis, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double was Bettis' first of the season. Izzy Becker was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Staples-Motley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Perham only posted an OBP of .192.
Meanwhile, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Breckenridge 8-0. The Rebels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.
Breckenridge's batters probably weren't too happy with Autumn Leach, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up four walks).
At the plate, Katie Kittelson was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Mady Myklebust, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Staples-Motley, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Staples-Motley suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in their previous matchup back in April of 2017. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
