The Liberty Union Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Logan Elm. Liberty Union was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Logan Elm apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Liberty Union lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ella Brown. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Brown scored 15 or more points. Savannah Howell was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Liberty Union has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Logan Elm, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty Union will be home for the holidays to greet West Muskingum at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. West Muskingum is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. Logan Elm will be home for the holidays to greet Huntington at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
