The Bear River Bears will face off against the Davis Darts at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Davis took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Bear River, who comes in off a win.
Last Wednesday, Bear River got the win against Grantsville by a conclusive 10-1. Considering the Bears have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Holden Potter made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Broxton Gardner, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Jackson Barfuss was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Bear River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Davis scored first but ultimately less than American Fork in their game on Friday. They lost 16-1 to the Cavemen. The match marked the Darts' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Davis saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Mcguire, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Bear River has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Davis, they dropped their record down to 5-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Bear River couldn't quite get it done against Davis in their previous matchup back in March of 2021 as they fell 10-7. Will the Bears have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
