If the Southwind Jaguars were feeling good off their 47-16 takedown of the Freedom Prep Academy Eagles on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Southwind took a 62-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Middle College. Even though they lost, Southwind's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.8 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
When it comes to explaining why Southwind lost on Wednesday, one person who can't be blamed is TaShawn Hubbard. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points along with 8 assists and 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Guest, who scored 13 points.
Southwind's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Middle College, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Southwind will be playing at home against Kirby at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Middle College, they will head out on the road to face off against First Assembly Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. First Assembly Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
