Baseball Recap: Woodlake Has No Trouble Against Riverdale

Woodlake came out on top against Riverdale on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Cowboys. Considering the Tigers have won seven contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Guillermo Rosales made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Rosales was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Woodlake got a big performance out of Elias Lang, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Uziel Nanez, who earned two RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Woodlake is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Riverdale, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Woodlake has already played their next match, a 10-0 defeat against South on the 16th. As for Riverdale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-2 win against West on the 16th.
