Sacred Heart had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They beat the French Camp Academy Panthers on Saturday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-3. The Crusaders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 matches by six runs or more this season.
Gabriel Pipkins made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Pipkins was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Darren Brown was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Kyron Murphy was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.
The victory (which was Sacred Heart's 17th in a row) raised their record to 25-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for French Camp Academy, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-10.
As of now, neither Sacred Heart nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
