The Williamsville North Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Cardinal O'Hara Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Williamsville North comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Tuesday, Williamsville North came up short against St. Francis and fell 60-50.
Meanwhile, Cardinal O'Hara's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Orchard Park, falling 79-50.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Simmarion Threet, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Gavin Johnson, who scored 15 points.
Williamsville North's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Cardinal O'Hara, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Williamsville North took their victory against Cardinal O'Hara in their previous matchup back in December of 2014 by a conclusive 67-46. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Cardinal O'Hara's Donel Cathcart, who scored 21 points along with three steals. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Williamsville North to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
