After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Victory Christian Center, the Elevation Prep Academy Honey Badgers were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Comenius by a score of 77-68. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for JAYLEN THOMAS, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. KYHREE McALISTER was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Elevation Prep Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Comenius, they have yet to win a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 5-5 record.
Elevation Prep Academy will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Berean Baptist Academy at 12:30 p.m. on December 9th. Berean Baptist Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Elevation Prep Academy is ranked 91st). Comenius won't have much time to rest: their next match is against York Prep at 7:00 p.m. on December 6th. York Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Comenius likes a good challenge.
