On Thursday, the O'Fallon Panthers faced the Alton Redbirds in a battle between two of the state's top teams. O'Fallon fell to Alton 52-47. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points O'Fallon has scored all season.
Despite the loss, O'Fallon had strong showings from D'Myjah Bolds, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, and Carolyn Foster, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Bolds is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Haeli Tart, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and five assists.
O'Fallon's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Alton, their victory was their 26th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. O'Fallon will take on East St. Louis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alton, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Belleville West at 6:00 p.m.
