It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the State College Little Lions ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They walked away with a 64-55 victory over Harrisburg. Given State College's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Harrisburg is ranked 374th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Aidan Angus was a one-man wrecking crew for State College as he scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Angus has scored all season. Reed Melvin was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
State College's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Harrisburg, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
State College will head out on the road to square off against Carlisle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Carlisle is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Harrisburg, Harrisburg and Central Dauphin will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Central Dauphin is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.1 points per game.
