The Grace Christian Academy Lions suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Columbia Academy by a score of 56-53. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Grace Christian Academy came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Columbia Academy is ranked 253rd).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Columbia Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Haley Collins, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Shirley, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Grace Christian Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-3. As for Columbia Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.
Grace Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Providence Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbia Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Franklin Road Academy at 1:00 p.m.
