The Anderson Prep Academy Jets will head out on the road to face off against the Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Anderson Prep Academy is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Anderson Prep Academy suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Blackford on the road and fell 58-19. While losing is never fun, Anderson Prep Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 286th, while Blackford is ranked 77th).
Meanwhile, Indiana School for the Deaf had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 45 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They took down Texas School for the Deaf 46-30. The team accrued 34 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.
Sophia Wascher continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Wascher, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Anderson Prep Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Indiana School for the Deaf, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Anderson Prep Academy strolled past Indiana School for the Deaf when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 60-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Anderson Prep Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
