On Friday, Greenville Classical Academy came up short against Lake Pointe Academy and fell 45-35. While losing is never fun, Greenville Classical Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Lake Pointe Academy is ranked 107th).
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grant Terry, who scored 10 points. Terry scored a full 28.6% of Greenville Classical Academy's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Charlie Erkens, who scored 8 points.
Greenville Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Lake Pointe Academy, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Greenville Classical Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on New Covenant School at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Lake Pointe Academy, they will play host again and welcome Hampton Park Christian, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
