Clinton dropped down to 13-10 on Thursday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Harrisonville Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

As for Harrisonville, their record now sits at 21-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 22nd.

For Harrisonville's part, Ben Mahurin made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Mahurin has posted since back in May of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clinton will host Warsaw at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Harrisonville, they will face off against Fort Osage at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
