After three games on the road, Oglethorpe County is heading back home. They will take on the Social Circle Redskins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Last Tuesday, Oglethorpe County narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Jasper County 42-40.
Meanwhile, Social Circle posted their closest victory since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Prince Avenue Christian out 30-27.
Social Circle's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Justin Russell, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds, and Jameccus Hardge, who scored 13 points.
Oglethorpe County has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Social Circle, their win bumped their record up to 8-15.
Oglethorpe County was able to grind out a solid victory over Social Circle in their previous meeting last Tuesday, winning 44-34. Will Oglethorpe County repeat their success, or does Social Circle have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
