It was a good run, but the El Camino Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. Their2023 ended with a 64-48 loss against El Capitan. El Camino was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as El Capitan apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, El Camino still got an impressive performance from Demetrious Perry, who scored 23 points. The match was Perry's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Matt Martin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
El Camino's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for El Capitan, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.
El Camino and McQueen will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. McQueen has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
