The Hurricane Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They fell to Desert Hills 65-60. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hurricane in their matchups with the Thunder: they've now lost four in a row.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cayleb Jackman, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Jackman has been hot recently, having posted four or more blocks the last eight times he's played. Rj Hurst was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Eli Allred was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 33 points and 1 assist for Desert Hills. Allred is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mason Rasmussen, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds and seven assists.
Hurricane has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Desert Hills, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-8.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Crimson Cliffs the next time they take the court. Desert Hills will host Crimson Cliffs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Hurricane will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
