The Turner Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by The Colony 76-48. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Turner in their matchups with The Colony: they've now lost eight in a row.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rodney Gray, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Nikolas Barrett was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Turner bumped their record down to 15-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for The Colony, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.
Turner will be playing at home against Creekview at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Creekview is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for The Colony, they will head out on the road to take on Reedy at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Reedy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 471st, while The Colony is ranked 38th).
