Brooke Stark was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, El Camino let Kaylani Feliciano-Taele and Kailey Dain run wild. Feliciano-Taele went a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, two RBI, and one double, while Dain got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Dain has posted since back in March. Makayla Boone was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
El Camino hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in ten consecutive games.
El Camino's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-9. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Oceanside, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-11.
As of now, neither El Camino nor the Pirates have any future games scheduled.
