The Del Rio Rams are taking a road trip to square off against the United South Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Del Rio is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
On Friday, Del Rio came up short against United and fell 6-2.
Karina Limon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February.
On the hitting side, Del Rio saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miamor Salazar, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, United South beat United 10-5 on Tuesday.
Danyka Charles made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Charles was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andrea Guerrero, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Samarah Martinez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
United South has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. Del Rio's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.
Del Rio beat United South 4-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will Del Rio repeat their success, or does United South have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
