The West Orange Warriors will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Oak Ridge Pioneers on February 7th. West Orange has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
With a playoff game on the line, West Orange rose to the challenge on Monday. They blew past the Wolverines 54-17 on the road. Given West Orange's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Wolverines are ranked 377th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
West Orange got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Serena Rosas out in front who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rosas has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chakayla Scott, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Oak Ridge blew past the Fightin' Tigers, posting a 48-4 win at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Oak Ridge has managed all season.
West Orange's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Oak Ridge, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
West Orange came up short against the Pioneers in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 54-47. Can West Orange avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
